How To Avoid The “Number One” Trap In Business
I Assume you guys know who Muhammad Ali is. If you don't then you should probably go look him up.
He was the greatest boxer of all time.
Now I want you to imagine if he could only throw a jab, that was his only good punch. Do you think he would go on to be the best boxer to ever step into the ring?
Absolutely not!
So Why Do We Do This With Business
Just Like Muhammad Ali only throwing a jab, many businesses only have one way of doing things.
Whether it be one form of lead generation, one way of getting customers in the door, one guy who does all their marketing, etc, etc.
If you have one pillar holding your business up, you are pretty much asking the universe to screw you over.
It may not feel like it is going to happen, but trust me, it's going to happen.
What Can Possibly Go Wrong
Think about this for a second.
Would you only have one pillar holding the weight of your entire house?
Noooooooo!
So when the lead generation method fails, then what?
Or what happens when that guy you solely rely on gets sick, goes on vacation, or even quits and goes and works for the competitor?
Everything may seem like it's going great, but then your entire business collapses, God Forbid, What do you do?
“What Should I Do?”
The first thing you should do is, ask yourself what is the worst thing that can happen.
Again Muhammad Ali was such a great boxer because he had speed, strength, and all kinds of different punch combinations. He did not solely rely on just one of those things.
You have to be able to find all those little cracks.
If you have one of anything in your business it should be your priority to get at least 1.5 preferably 2.
It's going to take extra time and extra hassle, but that time and energy that you put in, could save your entire business from coming to a complete halt.
Avoid The Trap
Don't let the number one destroy your business.
Take some time to identify the weak points. Prepare for what can go wrong.
There is a quote I really like, that I want you guys to remember. It was said by a french chemist, named Louis Pasteur.
“Fortune Favors The Prepared Mind.”
